If you are looking for a great place to go biking, the Southern Walnut Creek Trail is perfect for both the novice and experienced cyclist.

Hamilton Pool

Hamilton Pool Preserve, located in Dripping Springs, about 30 miles from Austin, is a historic swimming hole where Hamilton Creek spills out over limestone outcroppings to create a 45 foot waterfall. The pool's water level stays pretty constant, even during periods of drought.

This has to be one of my favorite hikes in all of Austin.  It is minutes from downtown, and yet, hiking along the Barton Creek Greenbelt, you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere!
